Understanding Your Coverage
We aim to make doula care accessible. We work with major insurance providers and can help you navigate the reimbursement process for prenatal, birth, and postpartum support services.
Accepted Plans
We are currently in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, TriCare, Neighborhood Health Plan, Maven, Carrott. We also accept HSA/FSA payments.
What's Covered
Most plans cover birth doula attendance and select prenatal/postpartum visits. Coverage varies by employer and specific policy details.

If your plan doesn't offer direct coverage, we provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement and offer flexible payment plans.

Common Questions
Is doula care typically covered by insurance?
While coverage varies widely, many private insurance plans and Medicaid programs are increasingly offering reimbursement or direct payment for doula services. We provide detailed receipts for you to submit to your provider or we can bill directly!
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No! We submit all insurance information! No need for prior authorization!
What if my insurance denies my claim?
If your claim is initially denied, you have the right to appeal. We can assist you by providing additional documentation about the benefits of doula care to support your appeal process.
Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for services?
Yes! Doula services are generally considered a qualified medical expense. You can use your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account cards for payment or reimbursement.
